Privacy Policy

What's My Enneagram Type is a free assessment published by the Leading Between The Lines newsletter. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect when you take the test, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. We tried to keep it short and honest.

What we collect

• Your name and email address, which you enter to see your results. Your email is also used to subscribe you to the newsletter (see below).
• Your test answers and result — the choices and ratings you make, your computed type and wing, and anonymized response-quality signals (such as how long the test took) that we use to keep the instrument accurate.
• A few technical details your browser sends automatically — the page that referred you, your user-agent string, and marketing parameters in the link you followed. We store your IP address only as a one-way salted hash, never in raw form, so we can spot abuse without keeping the address itself.

Why we collect it

• To calculate and show you your Enneagram result on the results page.
• To subscribe you to the newsletter and send it to you.
• To improve the test — anonymized, aggregated answer patterns and quality signals let us recalibrate the scoring over time.
• To detect and block automated abuse of the form.

The newsletter

Entering your email subscribes you to Leading Between The Lines, a newsletter on self-awareness, leadership, and working with people. Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time — unsubscribing does not delete your other data, and retaking the test will not re-subscribe you if you have opted out. The newsletter is delivered through Beehiiv, which processes your email on our behalf under its own privacy terms.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• We do not email you a copy of your results or share them with anyone.
• We do not use the test to make decisions about you; it is for your own insight.

Cookies and analytics

We keep your in-progress answers in your browser's local storage so a refresh doesn't wipe your quiz — that data never leaves your device except as part of your final submission. We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to understand which pages are visited; it does not build an advertising profile of you.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time from any issue. To ask us to delete the assessment record associated with your email, email chad@chadtodd.com and we will remove it. Because we can only identify your record by the email you submitted, please write from that address.

Children

This test is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
